Islamabad: The National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) is set to have the Calligraphy Wing.
According to adviser to the prime minister on national history and literary heritage Irfan Siddiqui, the wing will be formally inaugurated next month.
Siddiqui asked National Language Promotion Department director general to ensure the early finalisation of arrangements for the Calligraphy Wing's inauguration.
He said the Calligraphy Wing would serve as a milestone for the revival and promotion of the glorious art of lettering and help encourage young calligraphers to achieve excellence in their artistic endeavours. The NLPD chief briefed the PM's adviser about the preparations for the new wing's establishment and the estimated cost of the initiative. Set up in 1979, the NLPD has been tasked with removing difficulties and paving the way for the adoption of Urdu.
