Ashrafi urges religious leaders to avoid violence

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi appealed to religious organisations of the country as well as clerics and religious scholars and public to stay away from any confrontation and getting into any volatile situation.
Talking with The News Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi demanded of the government to expose the elements responsible for making amendment in declaration of electoral reforms bill. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also urged on leadership of sit-in protesters and government to resolve prevailing blockade through peaceful talks.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi underlined that security forces of the country should stay away from taking action against sit-in protesters. He also pinpointed that putting on fire public properties is completely against Islamic teachings and the protesters should not engage into making arson of government and public properties.
"The government should expose the elements who are responsible for making amendment in declaration of electoral reforms bill and changed the context on 'Finality of Prophethood' belief from the declaration," said Tahir Ashrafi adding that it would be illegal and unconstitutional act, if the government did not expose the elements who coined this mayhem in the country. Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and President Wafaq-ul-Masajid Pakistan Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi appealed to Ulema and Mashaykh of the country to stay away from making any confrontation in the country. He requested religious communities and clerics to abstain their followers not to indulge into putting fire to the government and public properties all over the country. Protesters of religious communities should stage peaceful protest demonstrations without making loss the public and government properties.
Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi also lauded decision of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa for not employing military personnel to control protesters of Faizabad blockade and termed the decision in accordance of public sentiments and emotions not to engage military leadership in sit-in blockade.
