LAHORE: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) clinched both Men’s and Women’s titles in the National Karate Championship held here at WAPDA Sports Complex. WAPDA successfully defended both the titles in the Championship. In the race for Men’s title, Wapda grabbed 180 points with seven gold, one silver and one bronze medals, securing first position in the Championship. Army obtained second position with 95 points while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa third position with 60 points in the event. Likewise, for Women’s title, Wapda secured 185 points with seven gold two silver medals winning the top slot. Army secured second position with 80 points and Sindh achieved third position with 75 points. With this tremendous performance in the National Karate Championship, WAPDA managed to win the Men’s title for the consecutive 21 times while, Women’s title for the consecutive 11 times. Wapda Secretary Amer Ahmad was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony. The 3-day Championship was organised by Wapda Sports Board in collaboration with National Karate Federation.
