Wapda grab 5 gold medals on day 2

LAHORE: On second day of 25th National Men and 11th National Women Karate Championships at Wapda Sports Complex, Ferozpur Road, Lahore, eight medals were decided at various events of the day.
Wapda won 5 gold medals while Sindh, Army and KP bagged one gold medal each. Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation Wapda, Army, Police, Railways, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, Islamabad and FATA with more than 200 players and more than 50 technical official are participating.
On Second day of championships eight events were contested. In Female Individual Kata Shahida from Wapda won gold medal and Nazdana from Pakistan Railways secured second position while teams from Army and Balochistan secured third positions. In female event below 45 KG Ayesha Furqan from Sindh won gold medal and Laiba Zafar from Wapda secured silver medal while teams from Army and Punjab Secured bronze medals. In female event below 50 KG Benish Akbar from Wapda won gold medal and Iqra Anwar from Sindh secured silver medal while teams from Army and KP Secured bronze medals.
In female event below 55 KG Naz Gul from Wapda won gold medal and Razia Talib from Army secured silver medal while teams from Balochistan and Islamabad secured bronze medals. In female event below 61 KG Sana Kousar from Army won gold medal and Mahnoor Toheed from Wapda secured silver medal while teams from KP and Islamabad Secured bronze medals.
In Male Below 50 Kg event Ibrahim from Wapda team won gold medal and Hamayun from Pakistan Railways secured second position while teams from Balochistan and KP secured third position. In Male Below 55 Kg event Muhammad Murad from KP team won gold medal and Abu Zar from Army secured second position while teams from Balochistan and Wapda secured third position. In Male Below 60 Kg event Faheem Haider from Army team won gold medal and Ali Mehmood from Wapda secured second position while teams from Balochistan and KP secured third position. In Male Below 67 Kg event Naseer Ahmad from Wapda team won gold medal and Rehmatullah from Pakistan Railways secured second position while teams from Army and KP secured third position. At the end of the day Wapda is at top while Army is at second position.
Closing Ceremony will be held on Sunday at 4:00 pm. Chairman Wapda Lt-Gen (retd) Muzammil Hussain will be the chief guest at closing ceremony.
