MoU signed to install pellet mill on Ravi Campus

UNIVERSITY of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Lahore-based Consolidated Food Solutions Company in partnership with the La-Meccanica, Italy, to install a pellet mill on the Ravi Campus Pattoki and promote students’ training and research with a special focus on the poultry nutrition and feed production.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Bio-Vet Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Waqas and Owner of the La Meccanica, Italy, Roberto Reffo signed the MoU at a ceremony at UVAS on Wednesday, according to a press release. Under the MoU, the La-Meccanica Italy will donate a pellet mill to UVAS to be installed on the Ravi Campus, Pattoki, to promote the student’s exposure to the dynamics of the poultry feed production and research. The UVAS will share in-house research by students and faculty members with the Bio-Vet and La Meccanica, Italy. All the three parties will also cooperate in arranging seminars, workshops and exhibitions. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha appreciated the the company and La-Meccanica for the donation, which, he said, would go a long way in promotion of research and training of UVAS students in the poultry nutrition and feed production. Ahmed Waqas lauded the role of UVAS in promotion of education and research.
Roberto Reffo of the La Meccanica, Italy, desired enhancing collaboration with UVAS in other areas as well. Dr Mustafa Kamal from Pakistan Poultry Association, who was also present, said the UVAS had a major contribution to the growth of the poultry industry in the country.

according to a press release issued on Wednesday.
The vice-chancellor said the Ravians made Pakistan atomic power while the missile technology was also designed by a team of Ravians. He proudly said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief Raheel Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif were the Old Ravians and had a great love for their alma mater. Prof Rahman said he had increased the budget of student activities by 400 percent so that ample opportunities and activities could be generated for the personality development and grooming of students.
