World XI plans Pak tour in Jan: PHF chief

ISLAMABAD: As Pakistan hockey plunges into new low after losing twice in succession to 17th ranked Japan, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Brig (rtd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar said that World XI plans travelling Pakistan from January 10.
“World XI is to play in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Army and Interior Ministry have promised to provide security cover to visiting team,” PHF president said while addressing media. The PHF however have yet to reveal names of players that would represent World XI during series in Pakistan. He said that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has expressed his willingness to buy two franchise of Pakistan Hockey League.
