Medical Bus Service of Rescue 1122 launched in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: For the first time in Pakistan, a Medical Bus Service was inaugurated here Tuesday as part of the services offered by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue 1122).
A press release said the inaugural ceremony of the Mobile Emergency Medical Response Unit (Bus), the mini ambulance and Dewatering Pump was held at the Rescue 1122 provincial headquarters. Zahir Shah, the secretary of the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Asad Ali Khan said on the occasion that the Medical Bus Service had been put into service with the cooperation of the provincial government. He said the bus had three parts and the first one was equipped with an operation theatre, mini laboratory and blood bank. He explained that the second part had an out-patients department that included a cardiac monitor, ventilator and suction unit, while the third one had a four-bed intensive care unit. He said the Medical Bus Service offered services of international standard in medical emergencies.
According to Dr Asad Ali Khan, he said Rescue 1122 was also starting a mini ambulance that can be driven through the congested streets of the old city to provide medical care to patients.
In his speech, the chief guest praised the Rescue 1122 authorities for offering international standard facilities in a timely manner to the people. He said Rescue 1122 workers were serving the ailing humanity and people in need and this was the reason the provincial government had decided to extend these services to all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
