MULTAN: Election Tribunal Judge Rana Zahid Mehmood dismissed an election petition against PML-N MNA Saeed Ahmad Manais after a defeated candidate of the PTI failed to submit solid evidences regarding rigging in the elections.
In a petition, PTI candidate Aurangzeb Khan Khichi accused Saeed Ahmad of rigging the NA-170 elections. On Tuesday, the judge disposed of the petition after Aurangzeb failed to provide rigging proofs.

MULTAN: A 22-year-old girl immolated herself over a domestic dispute here.
According to police, Nadia Bibi of Muzaffargarh had contracted marriage with Mukhtar about 15 months ago. The couple had a child from the wedlock. Mukhtar used to torture his wife Nadia. On Monday night, Nadia burnt herself alive after quarrelling with her husband. As a result, she received serious burns. She was shifted to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan where she died on Tuesday. Muzaffargarh Sadr police have arrested her husband Mukhtar for interrogation after registering a case.
Meanwhile, Punjab IGP Mushtaq Sukhera has taken a notice of the incident and sought a report from police.
