PESHAWAR: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have said efforts are being made to provide steady supply of gas to consumers in the provincial capital.
Reacting to a news item in The News about gas loadshedding and low pressure in parts of Peshawar including Gulberg, Nauthia and Askari 2 colony in the Peshawar Saddar area, the SNGPL officials said a new line would be installed to augment the supply of natural gas to these localities. They said the work would be undertaken on an urgent basis to facilitate the consumers and ease their difficulties.
The SNGPL authorities in Peshawar said there were reports of some consumers using generators and compressors to illegally draw gas from the pipeline and efforts would be made to identify and punish them. They said such people violate the law and deprive other consumers of supply of gas. They added that consumers could help the SNGPL in exposing the people who steal gas and resort to illegal means to draw gas directly to their houses.
