SUKKUR: The Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, on Monday lashed out at Nawaz Sharif saying his government let Musharraf fly out of the county and is now crying foul. The ruling government has failed to control the existing crisis in the country, he added. He said the PPP is serious in defending parliament and the democratic process, but seriousness was not observed on part of the government. He said it would be harmful for the country if Nawaz Sharif initiates any unconstitutional move. Khursheed Shah said that Islamabad had been captured by a religious group for the past two weeks, which shows there is no government writ in the country. He said that the government is reluctant to disperse the protesters. He said the people from various countries living in Islamabad are ridiculing the government for its failure to take action.
Khursheed Shah said Imran Khan supported the referendum of Musharraf, so we can say that he is supportive of referendum. He said Imran Khan’s demand to hold early election is also unconstitutional. He also advised Ishaq Dar to resign. He said that accountability should be held across the board and not on selective basis. He said Imran Khan’s government in KPK has failed to provide justice in the Dera Ismail Khan incident and dubbed it the worst government of the KPK. He said that politics is a very difficult for Imran Khan who only understands cricket and has not yet become a full grown and mature politician. He said the people of Sindh are very wise and they will not support any Grand Alliance being formed ahead of the general election in Sindh. He said that PPP does not believe in political polarisation and wants a transparent and public motivated politics.
Earlier, addressing a ceremony to inaugurate the video link and computer lab at the Government Elementary College for Women, Sukkur, Khursheed said that in Pakistan illiteracy is a major issue which leads to poverty and many other problems. He said as many as 80 percent mothers are illiterate. He said the Arts and Designing College, Sukkur, will begin functioning from 2018.
