Man murdered over old enmity

LAHORE
A 28-year-old man was shot dead over an old enmity in the Sundar police area on Saturday.
The victim identified as Bilal hailed from Sheikhupura and ran a burger stall in the Sundar area.
He was allegedly gunned down by one Ashraf and his accomplices. Police claimed that an old enmity claimed his life. Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case.
Dies: A 50-year-old man was killed by a speeding car in the Township area on Saturday.
The victim identified as Yawar was on his way when a rashly-driven car hit and injured him.
The car rider drove away from the scene. The victim man was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The body has been removed to mortuary.
Seminar: The City Traffic Police Lahore on Saturday organised a seminar and a walk create awareness among people about losses and causes behind road traffic accidents on the eve of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
United Nations observes World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on the third Sunday of November every year.
The purpose behind the commemoration of the day is to pray for the victims of road crashes, pointing out causes behind these crashes and taking steps to ensure safe travel on roads.
City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) also commemorate the day every year and organise seminars and walks. On Saturday, a seminar and a walk were held in which the chief traffic officer (CTO) and a large number of transport operators and children participated. The walk was held on Bund Road.
The CTO said that violation of traffic rules and irresponsible behaviour of drivers were the main reasons for the accidents. Compliance with the traffic rules ensures safety to people on road, he added. On Sunday(today), the CTPL will hold a similar seminar and a walk at Faisal Chowk, The Mall.
