ISLAMABAD: Israrullah’s timely half century(56) helped Peshawar prevail over Islamabad by three wickets as National T20 Championship matches finally got under way at Pindi Stadium following couple of days rain. Islamabad were restricted to 128 all out with Peshawar reaching the target in 20th over. Israr who smashed three sixes and four boundaries during his 50-ball knock played lead role in his team success. While Hasan Ali (1-33) was expensive for Islamabad, Mohammad Irfan (2-9) put in best efforts for Islamabad.Earlier, Hasan (35) played well smashing three sixes and two fours in his innings. For Peshawar, Kashif Bhatti (2-22), Sohail Khan (2-23), Imran Khan Sr (2-28) and Waqas Maqsood (2-28) bowled well. In day’s other match, Rawalpindi outplayed FATA by six wickets with Umar Amin scoring match-winning 66 with the help of five sixes. Nasir Nawaz (42) also played attractive innings for Rawalpindi. FATA scored 160 for 8 in 20 overs with Khushdil Shah (50) playing well. For Rawalpindi Mohammad Asghar (2-41) bowled well.
