THE post of General Manager Pakistan Railways has been upgraded to the position of Chief Executive Railways by the approval of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The post, which previously was a general carder 21st Grade post, has been upgraded to Grade 22. The decision was taken and implemented on 16th of February. It was also decided that from this point onwards, the post of Chief Executive would be chosen from Grade 21 officers of the three departments of Pakistan Railways which would include Commercial and Transport Group, Mechanical Engineering Department and Civil Engineering Department.
Earlier, Federal Minister Railways chaired a high level meeting of the PR officials GM Operations, Additional GM Manufacturing and Services, Financial Adviser &and Chief Accounts Officer and Project Directors. The minister reviewed the development projects of the year 2014-2015 and proposals for the PSDP 2015-2016.
