LAHORE The Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) will hold a demonstration in Multan on February 22 to protest alleged state terrorism in Model Town and delay in release of an inquiry commission report. It was decided by a joint meeting of PAT Central Working Committee and Minhajul Quran on Monday chaired by Dr. Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri, head of Minhajul Quran Supreme Council. The meeting was briefed on the health condition of Dr. Tahirul Qadri and prayed for his quick recovery. Dr. Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri said the present rulers must make it clear that they would not be allowed to complete their term unless justice was provided to the Model Town victims and culprits given exemplary punishment. He said if the rulers were innocent, why they were not forming an independent joint investigation team and making the judicial commission report public. He alleged that rulers were making fun of the National Action Plan and were not sincere about eliminating terrorism. He said the government had no concrete data on banned terrorist organisations and their activities and the rulers were confused about stopping foreign aid to seminaries and registering them. He said under a well thought out plan madrassas were being harassed which had been raising their voice against terrorism and extremism, to hamper the NAP. He said all PAT workers arrested by the government were bailed out without entering into any sort of deal with the rulers.
