PUNJAB University (PU) teachers on Monday observed a black day by wearing black armbands during classes and other activities as a protest against Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) for its hooliganism on the campus.
It is pertinent to mention here that PU Academic Staff Association (PUASA) has also announced a protest rally against the torture of a teacher allegedly by some IJT activists on Tuesday (today). A lecturer of PU Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) was abducted and tortured allegedly by some IJT activists on Thursday night and an FIR had also been registered against three IJT activists. However, no arrests had been made so far.
