MULTAN: Additional Inspector General of Police Amjad Javed Saleemi has directed the range police to take extraordinary security measures across the worship places, schools and national installations in the wake of the Peshawar mosque tragedy.
Addressing a meeting in Khanewal on Saturday, he said that no lethargy would be tolerated in this regard. He said that the terrorists were anti-Pakistan. The terrorists were following the foreign agenda to sabotage the country but the vigilant police force would foil their nefarious designs, he added. He said that police were using modern techniques in arresting terrorists and criminals. He appreciated the Khanewal district police performance and said that it was encouraging. He directed the district police officials for effective campaign against proclaimed offenders.
In order to combat terrorism and eliminate crime, the police officers should be on the same page as an organised force and they should come forward in fields to avert the terrorism incidents, he added. He said that police lines training schools had been activated. Khanewal DPO Jehanzeb Khan also spoke on the occasion.
