Rally against Peshawar incident From Our Correspondent BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen activists on Saturday staged a demonstration against the Hayatabad (Peshawar) tragedy. The rally was led by the MWM district leaders from the Government Sadiq Egerton College to University Chowk. Later, they staged a demonstration outside the press club. They were chanting slogans against the Peshawar and Shikarpur incidents.
Dacoit killed in encounter From Our Correspondent BAHAWALPUR: A dacoit was killed in an encounter with Ahmadpur East City police here on Friday night. Police signalled dacoit Nadir alias Ghalloo at a picket on Khurrampur Road but he opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, the dacoit was killed on the spot. He was wanted by Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar police in more than 30 cases of murder, attempt to murder and dacoity.
