BHAKKAR: Police on Wednesday arrested nine members of different defunct organisations in separate incidents at Darya Khan, Bhakkar district.
The police during a crackdown on the members of different banned organisations arrested Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Tariq, Muhammad Abid Farooqi, Muhammad Ayub and Malik Imran Haider and sent them to the jail. The police also arrested Syed Imran Hussain Shah, Malik Rashid, Ziaullah Khan and Amir Hussain and took them into custody for further investigation. According to sources, the government had decided to detain the members of banned organisations and other persons under the Forth Schedule for a period of three months.
NEW RATES OF COMMODITIES: The district government has decided new rates of various commodities here.
The new rates were decided during the District Price Control Committee meeting held in the chair of DCO Muhammad Zaman Khan Wattoo on Wednesday. The new rates of various commodities are: ghee (Rs 112/kg), rice irri (Rs 35/kg), rice basmati (Rs 120/kg), daal masoor (Rs 110/kg), daal mash (Rs 135/kg), daal moong (Rs 150/kg), white grams (Rs 55/kg), red pepper (Rs 200/kg), mutton (Rs 480/kg), beef (Rs 250/kg), milk (Rs 55/kg), yogurt (Rs 65/kg), sugar (Rs 53/kg) and flour (Rs 745/20kg).
