Bookie, trader shot dead

Two people, one of them a suspected bookie and the other a trader, were gunned down in separate attacks in the city on Tuesday.
Muhammad Anis Memon, 48, believed to be involved in illegal betting on cricket matches, was sitting in his car in Block-13-A of Gulshan-e-Iqbal near Mumtaz
Manzil while his wife was buying groceries when two men riding a motorcycle arrived there and fired several gunshots at him.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal SP Abid Qaimkhani said Memon had earlier survived an attack in Bahadurabad in 2013.
The police official added that the murder appeared to be linked to Memon’s illegal activities.

Trader shot dead
A trader was gunned down near the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant in Saddar.
Police said Tasaduq Hussain, 40, who ran a glass business, was sitting at his shop when some men shot him once in the chest.
Eidgah SHO Alam Dahiri said that apparently Hussain was murdered while resisting a robbery as the assailants had only fired a single gunshot at the victim.
