The people living in Street No 4, G-9/3, have barely recouped from the shock of inflated utility bills for December and then they received the abnormally high gas bills for January.
The shocked consumers approached the SNGP management but were shown a cold shoulder. Had they delayed or not paid those inflated bills, they would have had their gas disconnected. One young lawyer from the area says that they had to cut back on their children’s needs to pay the soaring gas bills. Another old lady from the same sector has been paying more than Rs8,000 as gas bill for some time now. She has lodged her complaint several times with the relevant quarters – but who cares in this unjust and exploitative society?
