KARACHI: Following the Sindh High Court (SHC) order, some 67 police officers of upper grades will be sent to their original positions of July 6, 2017.
The SHC on Thursday dismissed the provincial government's order 'removing Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja', and ordered that he would continue on his post till his due term and also cancelled the transfer and posting orders of top police officers, including Additional Inspectors General (AIGs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) made by the Sindh government and Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Sial during the last two months. Sindh IGP AD Khawaja confirmed to The News that all transfer and posting orders made after July 6, 2017 would be cancelled according to the court orders.
Earlier, the powers of Sindh IGP AD Khawaja regarding transfers and postings of grade 18 and 19 police officers were curtailed and first conferred on the chief minister and then home minister during last two months. The chief minister and home minister issued various orders of transfers and postings of some 67 police officers of upper grades.
Some of the important postings and transfers made earlier and to be revoked now are as follows: DIG Technical and Transport Abdul Kareem was transferred and posted as DIG Traffic Hyderabad, Irfan Bahadur was posted as SSP Jamshoro from where Tanvir Aalam Odho removed and posted AIG Operations, Javed Baloch posted as SSP Ghotki from where Masood Bangash transferred and posted as SSP Sukkur, Javed Blaoch posted as SSP Ghotki, Irfan Blaoch transferred from Hyderabad and posted as SSP East Karachi, and Amjad Sheikh transferred from Sukkur and posted as SSP Hyderabad. AIG Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar was transferred and posted as AIG Traffic, Saqib Ismail Memon posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Zone, Karachi Range, replacing DIG Azad Khan, DIG Azad Khan, a BS-20 officer of the police transferred and posted as DIG Training, Sindh, Karachi, relieving Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh of the additional charge and Syed Asad Raza, a BS-19 officer posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, District South, Karachi, replacing Saqib Ismail Memon.
