BAHAWALPUR
Hundreds of feeder teachers, including female teachers, of Rahimyar Khan district on Saturday staged a demonstration for their reinstatement outside the Rahimyar Khan Press Club.
The protesters said that the LHC Bahawalpur Bench had passed a direction for their reinstatement but they were roaming on roads for their jobs and now they and their children had reached to starvation. They warned if they were not reinstated, than they would all commit suicide collectively and the government would be responsible of it.
AIRPORT SECURITY: Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Captain (retd) Saqib Zafar and RPO Ahsan Sadiq on Saturday visited the airport here to check security arrangements.
After the inspection, the commissioner and the RPO also addressed the ASF staffers and asked them to perform duty with vigilant eye and responsibility. Meanwhile, these officers were also briefed by Special Protection Unit SP Mehmoodul Hassan on the security measures adopted for under construction Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park. DPO Sarfraz Falki was also present.
NAP: DCO Javed Akhtar Mehmood has said that the National Action Plan will be implemented at any cost.
He said this while addressing the ‘Khabar Dar’ seminar at the TMA Hall here in Arifwala on Saturday. MNA Rana Zahid Hussain, DPO Shah Nawaz, PML-N district president Khan Imtiaz Ali Khan, DSP Ch Saleem, all SHOs, lumbardars and notables of the city participated in the function. The DCO said that the Peshawar terrorist attack had united the people on one platform against terrorism. He said that action would continue against all terrorists till their complete elimination. DPO Shah Nawaz said that lumbardars were head of the villages and they were playing an important role to meet every type of law and order situation.
He said that we should work together to curb the recent wave of terrorism. MNA Rana Zahid, Khan Imtiaz Ali Khan, AC Tariq Hussain and others also spoke.
12 booked: Kamalia Sadr police on Saturday booked 12 persons on the charge of firing in the air in a marriage ceremony at Chak 54/1-GB Tukra. The police raided the village and arrested Tariq and Arif. The police are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused persons.
BUS STAND: The Toba bus stand was reopened after two days on Saturday when transporters reduced fares. However, the Pirmahal bus stand remained closed for the second consecutive day. Kamalia AC Hafiz Najeeb said that the stand would only be opened when transporters would reduce fares.
