LAHORE
PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary said the revelations made by terror suspect from a political party in Baldia Town factory inferno case are shocking.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Ejaz said the report, prepared by a Joint Investigation Team, said the garments factory was set on fire by members of a political party on refusal to pay 200 million as extortion by the factory owners.
He said it was tragic that 289 people were burned alive for not having Rs 200 million as extortion. He said this incident was a political terrorism.
Secretary General Yasmin Rashid in a statement said the JIT report had disclosed the bitter realities behind this so-called “accident”. She said it was now clear that it was a planned attack, but not an accident.
She said all the political parties regardless of whether in power or not involved in this terrible incident should be accountable for their inhuman actions.
