The US is blaming Pakistanis for its own failure in Afghanistan. The US has spent almost $800 million on the war and has failed miserably. Now, it is trying to nullify the country’s sacrifices for the war on terror. Pakistan should seriously think about the consequences of the failed policy of the Afghan war. Almost 70,000 people have been martyred owing to this longest war. On the other hand, the economy has marched south at a fast pace. The truth is that the US has lost in Afghanistan just like it lost in Iraq and Vietnam. In order to cover up its blunders, it is trying to malign a country that, in the name of ‘collateral damage’, has suffered the most.
Pakistan should tell the US that it won’t listen to these baseless allegations in silence. What does the country have to lose? Is it the US aid? It is time the country told the entire world that it can survive on its own. This so-called alliance has already cost a lot. The federal government must take all shareholders on board and give a final answer to the US. Pakistan should strongly say, ‘No more’. This is the only way to protect the country’s sovereignty and integrity.
