PHF website to be re-launched ‘within a month’
KARACHI: PHF has appointed an IT expert to run its website in a successful manner. It wants the website to be fully operational as soon as possible because it has planned a number of activities for senior and junior teams as well as domestic events.
The IT expert has started work and hockey lovers across the globe will be able to see all important details related to Pakistan hockey on the website. Informed sources said that PHF president Brig (retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and secretary Shahbaz Ahmed have issued directives to fully operationalise the website and run it with modern-day features.
The sources said that PHF is trying to launch the website within a month. PHF is going to organise international-level events in the country, including a nine-a-side Nishan-e-Haider tournament, visit of World Hockey XI, and Pakistan Hockey League. With all these activities, the importance of PHF’s website has increased a lot.
PHF sources admitted that the website is not up to the mark and needs proper attention so that details of all activities are available on it. The PHF felt that a website, a facebook page and other social media are the basic needs today.
The sources mentioned that PHF’s official facebook page has already been launched. The PHF would also create its twitter account, the sources said. PHF’s website had been launched in early 2001, but it was never properly updated or even maintained.
The sources said the website of PHF would have the entire history of Pakistan hockey, news, views, analyses, schedule of domestic and international events, and FIH news. Questions about the website were asked at the PHF Executive Board meeting in Islamabad recently. The participants stressed the importance of regular updates on PHF’s website.
