CM praises outgoing chief secretary
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has disagreed with the notion that his government had set hard and unachievable targets for transparent and corruption-free governance.
He was speaking at a dinner hosted for outgoing Chief Secretary Abid Saeed here Thursday night. Provincial ministers and administrative secretaries attended the dinner, said an official handout.
The chief minister said it was total misconception to declare the government targets hard and unachievable.
He argued that prosperity and development came through the right kind of system.
He said that every individual in the governance structure had different responsibilities, but the collective goal was to ensure good governance and mitigate the grievances of the people.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak called upon the bureaucracy to utilize the expertise that they gained during their career for the benefit of the people.
He appreciated the outgoing chief secretary and the administrative secretaries for their work.
He asked the bureaucracy to remove the irritants in the system because if this isn’t done now then the coming generation would bear the brunt.
The chief minister hoped Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would be re-elected in the general election next year on the basis of its performance and delivery of services to the masses.
Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, who is retiring from service, shared his experiences with the audience and termed his tenure in KP as the most excellent.
