PESHAWAR: The premiere show of the multi-lingual international telefilm - Project Peshawar - will be held at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, on August 20 ahead of its release in film festivals in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Holland.
The premier show, being organised under the auspices of Jeans Films and sponsored by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), will be a family event, which will start at the designated venue at 7pm upcoming Sunday.
The multi-lingual international film produced in four languages – Urdu, Pashto, Dutch and English – is a unique blend of eastern and western cultures highlighting the negative side of the modern-day social media boom.
The film helps raise awareness as to how some people use social media negatively.
The Project Peshawar film also highlights the historic places of the city at national and international levels besides showcasing the talent of the Peshawar-based actors, directors and producers.
About 70 percent of the film has been shot in Peshawar and the remaining in the UK and Canada, which will soon be screened in theatres all across Pakistan and film festivals in the US, UK, Canada and Holland.
The story of Project Peshawar is based on real life incidents and full of thrill and suspense.
The film revolves around a London-based character, who falls in love with a girl from Peshawar through the internet. And when he travels here he discovers that it was only a trap to kidnap him.
Shoaib Lodin, a lead actor and consultant producer of the film is an Afghani-Dutch citizen who left Peshawar back in 1997. He is a graduate of the Anupam Kher Acting Institute in film making and TV serials. Irshu Bangash is the film director.
