PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday suspended the transfer order of assistant director of Federal Investigation Agency Shahid Ilyas from Mardan to Islamabad, who was member of the Joint Investigation Team in the lynching case of Mashal Khan.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Ikramullah Khan and Justice Abdul Shakoor suspended the transfer order and put on notice FIA authorities to submit the reply before the next hearing.
During hearing, counsel for the petitioner submitted that his client Shahid Ilyas was appointed and performing his duty as assistant director FIA at Mardan district. The lawyer argued that the transfer was based on political basis.
He submitted that the FIA officer married an officer
serving in Safron against
the wishes of his family
members.
He said that the petitioner claimed that his sister Shazia Tehmas, who is a former MPA, was involved in his transfer.
Furthermore, he submitted that the transfer was also against the spouse policy as he and his wife were serving in Mardan district.
