ATC issues warrants for five witnesses in Benazir murder case

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-1, Rawalpindi, has issued bailable arrest warrants for five prosecution witnesses, including Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashfaq Anwar in Benazir Bhutto murder case on Wednesday. The ATC Judge heard the case at Adiyala Jail, Rawalpindi.
ATC Judge Pervez Ismael Joya issued the warrants for the witnesses, including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Deputy Director Khalid Jameel, FIA Inspector Nisar Jadoon, Abdul Razzaq Meerani, who is the in-charge of Bilawal House, Karachi, District Police Officer (DPO) Jaffarabad, Ashfaq Anwar, who was Superintendent of Police (SP Headquarter), Rawalpindi in 2007, and ex-SSP Javed Khan for not appearing before the court despite repeated
notices. The court ordered the police for their arrest to produce them before the court on February 9, 2015. The court remarked that the witnesses have failed to appear before the court.
