LAHORE
AT least 13 persons were injured when a roof of a servant quarter of a factory collapsed in the Defence-C police limits on Tuesday.
The Rescue 1122 and Edhi Ambulance Service reached the place and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. Five of the injured were identified as Asghar, 35, Tahir Khan, 28, Akram, 28, Irfan, 20, and Makhan, 25. Cemented pipes were manufactured at the factory situated on Bedian Road near Chahu Ki Pind. The roof of the servant quarter was constructed with mud which was in a dilapidated condition. The injured were reported to be in a stable condition.
No FIR or any legal action was initiated till the filing of this report.
Bodies found: A 35-year-old unidentified woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Gulshan-e-Iqbal police limits on Tuesday.
Police have removed the dead body to the morgue for autopsy.
A passerby informed the police about a person lying unconscious in a ditch in an empty plot of Mehran Block. Police reached the incident place. They rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her as brought dead. Police also collected the forensic evidences from the crime-scene.
SI Ramzan said the victim was wrapped in the cloth. He said she was a good-looking lady. No mark of torture or injury was found on her body, he added. They were investigating the matter and the autopsy would help ascertain the cause of death, he maintained. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

A 60-year-old unidentified man was found dead near Metro Bus Station in Data Darbar police limits. Two unidentified men, aged between 35 and 40 years, were found dead near Haidri Kunda, Maqbra Mor, in Shahdara Town police limits.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old unidentified man was found dead near City Cinema in Tibbi City police limits. Some passersby informed the police that the said victims were lying unconscious in the above said places. Police reached the incident places.
They rushed the victims to nearby hospitals where doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
Police told the media that they looked like drug-addicts and might have died due to excessive use of drugs. However, autopsy will help ascertain the cause of their deaths.
Police were searching for the family of the deceased.
Weapons seized: The CIA Lahore Police claimed to have arrested three accused on a picket at Thokar Niaz Beg and recovered a large number of sophisticated illegal weapons, a car and fake SIMs verified through biometric system.
This was disclosed by SSP Investigations Rana Ayaz Saleem at a press conference held at his office on Tuesday. SP CIA Umer Virk was also present.
The accused were identified as Muhammad Faizan, son of Noor Habib, Sajid-ur-Rehman, and Tahir Mubarik, son of Mubarik Ali.
The Lahore Police presented seized weapons, cars and SIMs before the media. The recovered illegal weapons included 2 M-16 guns, five Kalashnikovs, 44 riffles of 44 bore, three repeater guns, 32 pistols of 30 bore and 14,000 bullets. The recovered SIMs were of different networks and 433 in numbers. The recovered car was a black coloured Corolla XLI numbered QT-368.
