MQM-London man killed in shootout
An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement – London, who was wanted in multiple target killing cases including attacks on cops, was gunned down in an encounter with personnel of the Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department’s Operations Wing early on Sunday.
SSP Munir Shaikh, chief of the CTD’s Operations Wing, said his team had received information about the presence of wanted suspects in Saeedabad.
As the law enforcers moved into the area, they came under fire near Shaitan Chowk in Saeedabad. The cops retaliated in kind and managed to arrest one suspect in injured condition while his partner escaped.
The arrested suspect, identified as MQM-London worker Irfan alias Punter, was rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
SSP Shaikh said Irfan was wanted by the police in a multiple target killing cases including fatal attacks on cops in Quaidabad and Korangi.
