BISE Peshawar announces HSSC results

PESHAWAR: The girl students got top three positions as Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar, announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate examination here on Saturday.

All the top three position holders belong to the Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar. The result was declared at a ceremony held at the auditorium hall of the board.

Overall 99,882 students had appeared in the part-I and II examination out of which 67,219 were declared successful.

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser was the chief guest on the occasion.

In pre-medical, Laiba Ahmed of the Jinnah College for Women got first position with 1,027 marks out of 1,100 while Momina Mustafa of the same college grabbed second position with 1,025 marks.

The third position was shared by Irsa Sikandar and Asma Ali who secured 1023 marks.

The pre-engineering group was topped by Wasif Jan of the Islamia College Peshawar who got 990 marks. Sarah Usman, student of Forward Girls College Hayatabad and Aqeelur Rehman of Peshawar Degree College (Boys), got second and third position with 987 and 983 marks, respectively.

The girl students of Jinnah College for Women also got the three top positions in the humanities group.

Khadeeja Sharafat stood first by securing 941 marks; Faryal Malik obtained 930 and Hafiza Mehreen Malik 909 to secure 2nd and 3rd position, respectively.

Cash award and shields were distributed among the position holder students.

An amount of Rs50,000 was given to the first, Rs45,000 to the second and Rs40,000 to the third position holders.

Speaking on the occasion, Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government was committed to improving educational standards.

“Though we have not succeeded in achieving the high standards in education sector, we have done a lot of work compared to successive governments,” he said while addressing a ceremony. Awards were given to the position holder students of Higher Secondary School Certificate examination at the ceremony.

Controller Examination, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hameedullah Jan in his speech said that all efforts had been made to

conduct the examinations and then prepare the result in a transparent manner.

“However, if students or their parents have any complaint or reservations about any issue, they can approach the board officials anytime,” he added.
