KARACHI: Unseeded Iqtedar Khan pulled off an impressive upset against second seed Mansoor Zaman in U17 quarter-finals of Kazim Anwar ADHD Trust (KAAT) “Champion Hunt Initiative Program for Squash” Tournament at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here on Tuesday.
A tough battle was witnessed between Iqtedar and Mansoor as the match was decided after marathon five-set encounter. Iqtedar eventually prevailed recording an 11-9, 5-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-6 victory to secure an unexpected place in semi-finals.
Meanwhile, favourite Mehran Javed dropped a set against unseeded Ali Kramat before registering a 12-10, 7-11, 11-9, 11-3 win.
Usmar Hassan found little resistance from Fawad Khalil and won the quarter-final match convincingly with 11-7, 11-8, 11-2 score.
Third Arslan Ramzan sent Abdul Qadir packing for home, beating him by 11-7, 11-6, 8-11, 11-4 score to confirm his place in the last-four.
