SC moved against Gulalai
LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking disqualification of former PTI MNA Ayesha Gulalai on the basis of levelling ‘baseless’ allegations against PTI chairman Imran Khan. The disqualification of the PTI’s parliamentarian from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been sought by a citizen, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, who frequently files ‘public interest’ petitions.
The petitioner pleaded that MNA Gulali resorted to character assassination of Imran Khan without furnishing any evidence. He said the woman parliamentarian misled nation through her lies against the PTI chief.
He asked the court to invoke provisions of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution and disqualify Ms Gulalai as MNA. He also demanded the court to suspend assembly membership of the respondent MNA and put her name on exit control list until decision of the petition.
