OKARA: University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan inaugurated the university sub-campus here.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Iqrar Ahmad said that the Punjab government had provided a grant of Rs 500 million for the project. He said that administration and academic blocks would be constructed in three years.
Commissioner Sohail Shahzad, MNA Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan, MPAs Mian Muhammad Munir and Ch Javed Allauddin and DCO Qaisar Saleem, in their addresses, said that the industry related to agriculture would flourish in the district after the establishment of the sub-campus. They said that the inauguration of the sub-campus was a desire of PM Nawaz Sharif. They said that the provincial government had approved Rs 150 million for road projects.
Outlaw killed in Okara police encounter

OKARA: Hujra Shah Muqeem police killed a gangster in an encounter here on Sunday night.
Police received information that three outlaws were present near Qadirabad village. Following the information, police raided the area to arrest the outlaws. On seeing police, the outlaws opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, one of three outlaws was killed on the spot while the others fled. The killed outlaw was later identified as Siddique of Chak 27/D. The killed gangster was wanted by police in several cases. He was also involved in the murder of ASI Ahsanullah.
