Pak squash players set to take part in several events abroad
KARACHI: Pakistani squash players are all ready to play several Professional Squash Association (PSA) events in the coming months.
The country’s top player Farhan Mehboob has entered his name in Hong Kong International to be held from September 4-9 and US Open that is scheduled from October 4-15.
The second top player of the country Farhan Zaman is also playing two high-prized events. He has entered his name in Hong Kong International and Nash Cup, which is to be held from September 18-23.
Tayyab Aslam is third top ranked player of the country. He has entered his name in Hong Kong International, Texas Open (scheduled from September 26 to October 1), and Malaysian Open (to be held from October 16-21).
Ahsan Ayaz, the fourth top ranked player, is also playing several events. He has entered his name in Hong Kong International, Nash Cup, Texas Open, Chicago Open (scheduled from October 17-22), Cleveland Skating Club Open (to be held from October 25-28), and London Open (scheduled from November 28 to December 3).
Israr Ahmed will play Hong Kong International, Nash Cup, Texas Open, Chicago Open, Cleveland Skating Club Open, Life Time Minneapolis Open (to be held from October 31 to November 5), and PSA World Championship in December.
Asim Khan will play Kiva Club Open (September 14-17), Nash Cup, Texas Open, White Oaks Court Classic (October 11-14), Chicago Open, Cleveland Skating Club Open, and Life Time Minneapolis Open.
Danish Atlas Khan has entered his name in Chicago Open. “This is part of our strategy to help them improve their rankings and game,” said Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) secretary Tahir Sultan while talking to ‘The News’. He added that PSF was sponsoring them for the international events.
