NA session to continue till Feb 13

ISLAMABAD: The government and the opposition reached an agreement for continuing the requisite session of the National Assembly till February 13.
This was decided in the meeting of the House Business Committee of the National Assembly, which was chaired by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and attended by the representatives of all the parliamentary parties of the National Assembly.
Though the government wanted to run the requisite session for one day and to call the routine session next Monday (February 9), yet the government dropped the idea. In the meeting of the House Business Committee, the government proposed before the opposition to continue the session till February 13 and also bring the routine official business of the government parallel to requisite agenda of the opposition.
The opposition agreed with the government’s proposal to continue the requisite session till February 13 in which the government also brings its official business.It was also decided that the National Assembly would discuss the situation arising from petrol shortage/crisis in the country, besides taking up question hour and calling attention notices during the ongoing session.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs/Chief Whip of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, MNAs: Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Shahab-ud-Din Khan, Syed Naveed Qamar, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Sheikh Salahuddin and Ijaz Ahmad Jakhrani.
