ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Saturday termed the photocopy of the alleged residence permit (iqama) of former president Asif Ali Zardari doing rounds on the social media as fake, saying that it is fabricated and photoshopped to malign and discredit the former president and the PPP.

"This is most reprehensible and is deeply deplored and condemned," said PPP spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar in a statement. Farhatullah Babar said Asif Ali Zardari has been validly granted visa by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Abu Dhabi on the basis of which he visits and stays in the UAE. “The former president does not hold any visa or residence permit as an employee or partner in some private firm as wrongly claimed in the fake iqama doing rounds on social media,” he said.
