Colours, creativity and nature were at their best in the 'Colour Fiesta' competition organised at City School Nursery, G-10/3 Branch, on Monday.
Every classroom, from Play Group to Class 2, was beautifully decorated with things prepared by little angels around the colour theme assigned to them. The themes included black and white, purple, yellow, red, blue, green, pink, brown, silver and golden and rainbow.
The round of fiesta started with the black and white theme where witches prepared special soup for the guests. The entrance area was nicely decorated with snow and snowman. Two children dressed up like rabbits roamed around the witches joining them in their poem.
A group of enthusiastic and energetic children, all dressed up in the assigned colours, welcomed guests in their classrooms. They tirelessly performed on poems connected to their colours throughout the day besides introducing the objects displayed in their classrooms. Children were encouraged to use recycled material to make colourful models Nature dominated all colour themes. There were camels, octopus, fish, monkeys and spiders made in different colours. A room in golden and silver chose space as their theme. A spaceship with the little astronaut inside it surprised many visiting the classroom.
The school branch organized colour fiesta competition among students to apprise them with the importance of colours and to introduce a spirit of healthy competition. According to judges, silver and golden theme on which project was given to class Kinder Garden (T) secured first position.
Children, dressed in silver attires, shower snowflakes with cuttings of sliver crap paper and made a treasure with trivial stuff covered with golden paper and paint, showed an outstanding presentation to their class room with the help of their class teacher.
The second prize was awarded to green which was assigned to class 2-T while the third prize was jointly bagged by class Kindergarten-C on the theme of brown and Nursery-T for their colourful presentation on the rainbow colours.
Headmistress of the school Fazia Waqar who served at different branches of City School for last 16 years, sharing her comments said that all the projects were prepared by the students with the help of their class teachers and it took almost one week to conduct this competition.
"All the students were so excited and took keen interest in making different projects," she said adding that all the things were prepared using ordinary stuff like paper plates, crap paper, colours, hand painting and hand prints etc.
She said aim to observe colour day was to apprise students with different colours in addition to imparting maximum knowledge about aquatic life, animals, birds, plants, galaxy and the natural beauty through this activity. "Such activities boosts thinking process among students," she said
