GOC announces uplift schemes for Kurram Agency

PARACHINAR: General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7-Division Major-General Hassan Hayat visited various parts of Kurram Agency along with political administration officials here on Sunday and announced a number of development schemes and relief measures.

Talking to elders of Boshera, the GOC reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment about zero tolerance for lawlessness in Kurram Agency.The official listened to all issues about the provision of electricity, improvement in agriculture, health, infrastructure development. He suggested to the Kurram Agency political agent to have the same resolved through line departments.

The GOC announced to complete renovation of four schools (boys and girls) and development of a playground for the locals. The political agent also assured to black-top the road to Boshera in two weeks.

During visit to Sadda, the GOC distributed 551 cheques amongst displaced persons and interacted with affectees. He visited the proposed site for setting up Army Public School in Sadda and finalised the revamp plan.

He also visited Poly Technical Institute. He suggested to the political agent and Fata Development Authority and agency coordinating officer to address all managerial issues pointed out on the occasion.

The issues included provision of qualified staff, upkeep of labs and training equipment.He offered assistance from army to enhance overall standards of facility.The GOC attended jirga with local notables and elders at Dogar.

He expressed concern at the week state of basic infrastructure and functioning of local administration in central part of Kurram Agency.The GOC suggested to the political agent to take immediate steps to improve overall quality of life.

He asked the local administration to take all necessary measures for quick restoration of the Basic Health Unit by ensuring doctors, rebuilding of government school ,establishment of a school by the army, completion of pending Annual Development Plan projects, construction of water supply scheme, installation of telephone lines with internet facility, rehabilitation of electricity and construction of road network in Central Kurram.

The GOC announced establishment of civil military executive committee to monitor progress of all planned projects in central Kurram.The officer distributed sports gears to the youth and announced construction of a cricket stadium in Dogar.
