PM asked to waive off loans in Chitral
CHITRAL: Hailing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for inaugurating the Lowari Tunnel, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Irshad Javed, advocate, on Saturday hoped the premier’s announcement about waiving loans would also be implemented. “The prime minister during his recent visit directed the officials to write off the loans as the area had suffered a lot due to floods and earthquake,” he said. He said that most people could not return their loans. He added that the issue was raised with the premier during his recent trip to Chitral, who directed the officials to waive off the loans in the calamity-hit valley. Irshad Javed also lauded the premier for allocating sufficient funds for the Lowari Tunnel. “The tunnel was completed only due to the personal commitment of the premier. The government provided Rs23 billion for the project, which had been denied in the previous government,” he maintained.
