Man arrested with fake property documents

LAHORE: Gulberg police arrested a man on charges of preparing fake property documents of a piece of land belonging to a church.

The arrested man was identified as Aneel Ashiq alias Neela. The accused was arrested on the complaint of a citizen, Sarfraz Ahmad. The complainant alleged that Aneel showed himself to be the owner of a piece of land which actually belonged to a church and sold it to him after receiving Rs 8.5 million in advance.  

Meanwhile, a team of FIA on Wednesday arrested a person on charges of running illegal business of hundi/hawala.

According to an FIA official, the accused, Junaid Khan, was arrested in a raid conducted on Sheranwala Gate, Lahore, where he was found involved in illegal business of hundi/hawala. The official said Rs 165,500, receipts/ledgers regarding hundi/hawala, visiting cards, etc, were also seized from his possession.

suicide: A married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a rope in the Raiwind area on Wednesday. The woman was identified as Farzana. She had left the house of her husband two months back after some domestic issues. On the day of the incident, she locked herself up in a room and ended her life by hanging herself from a rope.   

accident: A woman expired in a hospital on Wednesday, a few hours after she was hit by a bus in the Nawankot area. The victim was identified as Bashiran. She was standing on a footpath when the bus driver lost control over the vehicle which climbed the footpath and hit and injured her. She was admitted to hospital were she died.

Security: The SP Security has said that the Lahore police are providing security cover to all churches in the city. During a meeting with the representatives of churches at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Wednesday, he said that the directions in connection with the security of churches had been issued to all divisional SPs.
