Army is for people of Pakistan: Gen Bajwa
QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said that we are the army of the people of Pakistan and shall continue to perform our duty with their full support.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the COAS stated this while visiting the Quetta Garrison on Friday. He interacted with officers/ soldiers and appreciated their morale and motivation. He was given a detailed briefing on the security situation of the province at Headquarters Southern Command and Headquarters FC Balochistan (North).
The COAS was apprised that there has been a phenomenal reduction in sectarian targeting while terrorists in desperation were now targeting Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and soft targets. The COAS appreciated the achievements of the army, FC, police, intelligence and other agencies including provincial administration towards improvement of security situation.
The COAS especially hailed efforts in socio-economic domain and resultant considerable willing surrender of ferraries. He said that Balochistan is in his prime focus and prosperity of people of Balochistan at par with other provinces is the main objective.Earlier, upon his arrival at Quetta, he was received by Lieutenant General Aamer Riaz, Commander Southern Command.
