LAHORE: Hot and humid weather continued to prevail in the city here on Monday while Met office predicted isolated heavy to very heavy falls during the next 24 hours.
Met officials said seasonal low lies over northeast Balochistan. Moderate monsoon currents are penetrating in central and upper parts of the country and will grip most parts of the country during the week. They predicted that rain/thunderstorm with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions), and Kashmir, while at scattered places in Malakand, Peshawar divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and Humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
On Monday, weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country while rain-thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Kalat divisions and Kashmir.
Rainfall was recorded in cities, including Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Garhi Dupatta, Kotli, Sialkot, Mangla, Murree, Gujrat and Khuzdar. Monday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 46°C while in Lahore it was 40°C, minimum was 30°C and humidity was 34 percent.
