N-leaders fear some innocent may be punished
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders Asif Kirmani, Talal Chaudhry and Khwaja Saad Rafique have said only one week is left in conclusion of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) drama.
They feared that some innocent person could be given punishment, and demanded that justice not only be done, but it must also be seen to be done. They said the party workers would not take to the streets even if the Panama case verdict was pronounced against the Sharif family.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister Asif Kirmani on Tuesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and his cronies were confusing the people by distorting the facts about the Panama case to serve their vested interests.
Talking to the media here outside the Federal Judicial Academy, he said the PML-N did not need any favour rather justice must be done by keeping aside personal likes and dislikes. He said the reports of JIT not sending a questionnaire to Qatari prince was tantamount to the contempt of court. He said Qatari Prince was the main defence witness of the Sharif family and his statement was a must for meeting the requirements of justice.
Also, MNA Talal Chaudhry on Tuesday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has offered unmatched sacrifices for an independent judiciary.Talking to the media, he said PM Nawaz Sharif never deviated from his principles despite enduring jail sentences and exile. He urged institutions to stop puppets from playing their games. He said in Pakistan democratically elected governments were ousted by hatching conspiracies. He urged the SC to take notice of conspiracies.
Also, Minister for Railways and PML-N leader Khwaja Saad Rafique said if the court judgment came against his party, even then they would not take to the streets.
“Not only we will suffer but also Imran Khan, as cases are running against him in the courts.”Saad said the PML-N would try to complete its tenure till 2018 but if we had to go to polls before 2018, we are not worried about it.
