Fakhar meets Swedish writers
LAHORE: Fakhar Zaman, who has recently received Pride of Punjab Award from the Punjab government on his Punjabi writings, is visiting Europe these days to attend cultural seminars and conferences. He is accompanied by his wife eminent history scholar Dr Fatima Hussain.
In Stockholm, Sweden he had a detailed meeting with famous Swedish poet Peter Curman, deputy mayor of Avesta town, Karin Perers, former president of Stockholm press club and some known writers. They appreciated Zaman’s efforts to introduce Swedish Nobel laureate poet Karlfeldt into Urdu. It was decided in meeting that another international conference on peace will be held in Sweden. Fakhar will also meet German scholars Uwe Friesal, Gino, and Dr Dalia and discuss holding of peace conference in Germany next year.
