2 dacoits killed in Bahawalpur encounter

BAHAWALPUR: Two notorious dacoits were killed in an encounter with the Sma-Stta police near AP Canal on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Nadim Mayo alias Deema and Azhar alias Azhari Khapra. The police claimed that they were wanted in several cases of attempt to murder and other heinous crimes.

BAHAWALPUR: Two people were injured in a scuffle over the custody of a six-year-old girl outside the court of district and sessions judge on Thursday.
Sughra Bibi had filed a petition for the custody of her six-year-old daughter Iqra who was living with her father Riaz Ahmad. As the girl came out of the courtroom, her maternal uncles and other relatives attacked Riaz, his father Abdul Karim and brother Bilal with bricks and forcibly took away the girl. As a result, Bilal Ahmad and Abdul Karim were critically injured and shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Later on the orders of the district and sessions judge, the Cantonment police have registered a case against the accused.
2 TERRORISTS AWARDED LIFE TERM: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Khalid Arshad awarded life imprisonment to two convicts for making a bomb and other explosives.
Shabbir alias Shabbiru and Muhammad Shakil alias Abdullah were awarded life imprisonment, total 24-year rigorous imprisonments and confiscation of their properties. The court also fined them Rs 100,000 each. According to the prosecution, both convicts were arrested while making bombs and other explosives on May 28, 2012. They were tried in New Central Jail, Bahawalpur.
