ABBOTTABAD: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak inaugurated the Rescue 1122 service in Abbottabad here on Thursday.
Director General Rescue 1122 Dr Asad Ali Khan received guests at the inaugural ceremony. Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, being chief guest, was presented guard of honour on the occasion.
Pervez Khattak said the Rescue 1122 was doing a great job and provided timely assistance to people in emergencies. He said the service would be extended to the entire province. Dr Asad Ali said that modern equipment and machinery were provided to the department and appreciated the support and commitment of the provincial government to the service. He said the service possessed international standard equipment and machinery.
He said the Rescue 1122 provided assistance in fire eruption, collapse of houses and buildings, water rescue, medical and other services to people in case of an emergency. “The service saves lives and also provides free training to people to protect themselves in an emergency,” he added.
