MULTAN: The business community Wednesday urged the Civil Aviation Authority to make the Multan International Airport operational.
Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mian Iqbal Hassan said importers, exporters, traders and industrialists want early working of the airport. He said trade activities and visits of foreign buyers would increase with the working of the airport. He said exporters of mangoes and citrus would increase their export to Europe, Middle East and other countries and their precious time and money would be saved. Iqbal appealed to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to direct the relevant authorities to remove all obstacles in the way of completion of the airport. Iqbal added the government should develop a modern cargo complex in Multan to facilitate exporters of fresh fruit and vegetables and at least four passengers bridges be constructed to handle four flights at a time.
