ACE orders cases against SHO, ASI

GUJRANWALA: Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Dr Sohail Anwar has ordered cases against a station house officer and an assistant sub-inspector on the charge of corruption.
Rana Arshad, a resident of Sambrial, alleged that Inspector Mian Riaz of the Pasrur police had received Rs 200,000 from him for investigation of a murder case.
Khurram Shahzad of Pasrur, in an application, alleged that ASI Ihsan Basra had illegally detained him at Dodha Qila Kalar police station and released him after receiving Rs 7,500 as bribe from him. The charges were proved during inquiries conducted by circle officers concerned.
CONVICT DIES: A convict died of heart attack here.
Amjad, son of Karim, was convicted in a bogus cheque case. The jail administration had shifted him to DHQ Hospital where he died. The body has been handed over to the family after legal formalities.
YOUTH SHOT DEAD: Two unidentified motorcyclists shot dead a youth at Nandipur Village in the Emenabad police limits. M Kamran was going to his home when the attackers opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
7 illegal Afghans held

GUJRANWALA: The police arrested seven illegal Afghans during a search operation at Qila Chand.
The arrested Afghans were identified as Shafiqullah Khan, Almas Khan, Awais Khan and Javed Khan. Cases have been registered against the accused.
